The New Jersey Second Amendment Society (NJ2AS) is pleased to announce its first High School essay writing contest. Starting November 1st 2012 all high school students (grades 9-12) are invited to submit an essay up to 500 words about the Second Amendment.

The theme for the contest is

“The Meaning of the Second Amendment and how it relates to the modern world”

Students are encouraged to use the theme as a guideline and to be creative in how they describe the relevance of the Second Amendment to their lives.

Contest is open to all high school students in the NJ
Your essay must be 500 words or less.
Only one essay per student may be submitted.

All essays should:

be double spaced
have 1 inch margins
include an essay title
be typed in 12 point font
be in Microsoft Word or a compatible format.

Submissions must be submitted by email to essaycontest@nj2as.com by March 30, 2013, 5:00pm EST.
Winners will be announced on June 1st 2013
The essay must be related to the Second Amendment and the individual right of the people to keep and bear arms.

1st, 2nd, and 3rd place Winners will have their essay published on the NJ2AS site, an Nj2AS t-shirt
1st place winner will also receive Gun Test Drive provided by Gun For Hire Academy
